Hearts of IPHYS In Motion Returns: Runners and Walkers Headed to Kunratický Forest

On Thursday, 10 September 2026, employees and students of IPHYS gathered for the Hearts of IPHYS in Motion sports afternoon. The event’s second edition offered both a run and a walk through Kunratický Forest and, above all, an opportunity to meet colleagues outside the laboratories and offices.

A total of 25 runners and 50 walkers took on the 5 km route. The overall winner of the running race was Anežka Ševčíková from the Laboratody of Developmental Cardiology, who received the travelling trophy for the fastest IPHYS heart from Ondřej Kuda, Director of IPHYS.

In the women’s category, the top three places went to Anežka Ševčíková, Silvie Hojná and Kristýna Brejchová. In the men’s category, Lukáš Chmátal, Šimon Vrana and David Levčík took first, second and third place, respectively.

The programme did not end with sport. In the U Krále Václava IV restaurant, participants enjoyed refreshments and a campfire, as well as a Bike to Work stand organised by Adam Eckhardt and Kamil Vlček. Together with a representative of the AutoMat association, they helped interested participants find suitable cycling routes for their commute to work.

Thank you to all the runners, walkers and supporters, as well as to the organising team and everyone who contributed to preparing the second edition of the event. We look forward to many more kilometres together!
