On the other hand, we study also integrative functions of the central nervous system that include:<\/p><ul><li>cognitive functions (memory, space orientation, or learning),<\/li><li>regulation of circadian rhythms (i.e. processes repeated rhythmically during the 24-hour period),<\/li><li>mechanisms of drug addictions, chronic pain, or epilepsy.<\/li><\/ul><p><br \/>Among other diseases of frequent cause of death in the developed countries. The older the Western population has got, the more frequent incidence of cardiovascular diseases there has been.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d5151f6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d5151f6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The explanation of physiological as well as pathophysiological processes within the cardiovascular system therefore represents an important goal of our research.<\/p><p>We study:<\/p><ul><li>mechanisms of development and prevention of ischemic heart disease that leads to heart attack,<\/li><li>developmental aspects of heart contractions and their role in heart arrhythmias,<\/li><li>mechanisms of vascular contraction and their use for treatment of hypertension.<\/li><\/ul><p><br \/>In addition, we contribute to the development of biomaterials that would be suitable for synthetic vascular substitutes. and yeast cells, we investigate transport systems in cell membranes that also play an essential role in cell metabolism.<\/p><p>In the field of signal transduction, we try to explain molecular
