The telemetry system enables simultaneous measurement of indirect calorimetry and telemetric recording of core body temperature. The animal is placed in a chamber where oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production are monitored. A telemetry chip reader is positioned beneath each breeding container. The chip must be surgically implanted into the abdominal cavity in advance. Telemetry readers can be placed under all 16 mouse cages.<\/p>\n

\u2013 High-precision time resolution (5 min) in the measuring chamber over a wide temperature range (6\u201335 \u00b0C).<\/p>\n

\u2013 User-friendly and easy-to-use interface that allows full control of the system and data visualization.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The animal can be acclimatized to the environment, minimizing the effect of stress on the measured values.<\/p>\n

The device can only be reserved if you have this method included in a valid Project of Experiments. The sample text for the Animal Experiment Project is available on the Intranet in the section Animal Breeding \u2013 Experiment Projects<\/a>. Before submitting the Project of Experiments, it is highly recommended to discuss the design of the experiments with the service department staff. If animals are to be measured repeatedly during the experiment, they may be housed in an on-site animal facility for the duration of the experiment.<\/p>\n

The implantation of a telemetric chip is part of the service. The evaluation of the respiratory coefficient, energy expenditure, physical activity, body temperature, and food intake at 5-minute intervals and then at 12- and 24-hour intervals is part of the service \u2013 Price list available on the Intranet in the section Animal Husbandry \u2013 Animals and Services \u2013 Services Provided.<\/p>\n
