It is now recognized that the immature brain also differs in the basic mechanisms of epileptogenesis, seizure generation and propagation. Seizure characteristics highly depend on the maturity of individual neurotransmitter systems. Our research is focused on developmental features of these systems and their participation in generation, spread and termination of seizure activity.
