Metabolic cages are designed for the collection of urine and feces from laboratory mice. In addition this function, mouse’s water and food consumption during the measurement is detected. The device is suitable for use in combination with indirect calorimetry. Based on the analysis of excreted nitrogen, oxidation of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats can be accurately calculated from indirect calorimetry data. 4 metabolic cages are available.
