Our laboratory is involved in research activities of National Institute for Research of Metabolic and Cardiovascular Diseases (the CarDia project : 2022-2025). Metabolic disorders, such as obesity and diabetes, are major risk factors for cardiovascular diseases including heart failure. Diabetes is associated with tissue hypoxia but also leads to deregulation of the Hif-1α signaling pathway. We study the role of Hif-1α in metabolic and functional changes induced by experimental diabetes, their impact on myocardial ischemic tolerance and the development of cardiomyopathy and heart failure. Special attention is paid to the mutual interplay between RNA modifications and HIF‑1α signaling.
