Press release: The Institute of Physiology of the CAS celebrates 70 years since its foundation

As society ages and gains weight, modern medicine must increasingly confront the so-called diseases of civilisation. The Institute of Physiology of the CAS, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, studies the impact of these diseases on human health. Its scientists contribute to a deeper understanding of how physiological and pathological processes are related to the nervous and cardiovascular systems and metabolic functions. In its research, the Institute of Physiology of the CAS investigates pathophysiological mechanisms, thus elucidating the origin of serious human diseases and contributing to the development of new methods in effective therapy, prevention and improved diagnosis.
