Ivana Vaněčková appeared on Friday (22.11.) on the main news programme of Czech Television and explained the new findings on the effectiveness of medicines for diabetes. Glyphosates not only have a positive effect in the treatment of diabetes, but also have a number of beneficial side effects on heart, lung and liver diseases. She and her team from Laboratory of Experimental Hypertension focused on how the drugs work in rats in the case of combined liver and heart disease. The result was an improvement in a number of metabolic parameters and heart function, in addition to a reduction in weight gain and a more effective response of the body to increased fat intake. The team plans to further study the differences in the effects of these antidiabetic drugs depending on the sex and age of the individual.
