Press release: New findings important for the health of insulin-producing cells in the pancreas

The discovery by scientists at the Institute of Physiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences could lead to the development of new drugs targeting metabolic diseases such as diabetes. They have discovered details of the mechanism by which pancreatic cells respond to changes in blood sugar concentration. They focused on so-called beta cells, which produce the hormone insulin and help maintain metabolic balance.
