On Thursday, September 11, 2025, the historic first sports afternoon HEARTS OF IPHYS IN MOTION took place – an event for all employees and students of the IPHYS. Its main goal was not only to do something for their health but also to energize the inner heart of IPHYS in a friendly atmosphere. A total of 26 runners and 60 walkers lined up at the start of the 5 km loop in Kunratice Forest. Another 11 enthusiasts helped with the organization. All participants received a unique commemorative medal made by the Department of Information Technology. In the running race, Lukáš Chmátal from the Department of Cardiometabolism clearly dominated and also received the special traveling trophy for the Fastest Heart of IPHYS from the hands of IPHYS Director Ondřej Kuda. Silvie Hojná from the Department of Experimental Hypertension took second place, and Jaroslav Hrdlička from the Department of Developmental Cardiology came third.
The enthusiasm, good spirits, and smiles on the faces of everyone involved during the race and the campfire gathering at the Na Tý Louce Zelený restaurant clearly proved that active time spent together not only strengthens the body but also bonds the entire team more closely. Thank you to everyone who participated, and we believe that in the next edition in September 2026 we will see an even greater number of hearts of IPHYS.
