From 1 January 2026, IPHYS will make use of three years of support from European funds under the OP JAK program to systematically strengthen its research environment. The aim of the project is to increase the quality and transparency of research, enhance the institute’s international competitiveness and better share the benefits of biomedical research with both the professional community and the general public.
The project will help improve the scientific environment at IPHYS in several key areas:
1. In the area of research ethics, it will focus on strengthening ethical support and the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools in research.
2. It will support open science and data management in line with FAIR data principles by introducing appropriate methodologies and providing specialised training made possible by the newly established Data Steward position.
3. Another important part of the project is the development of international awareness and the internationalisation of the research environment. This will be supported in particular by improving services for foreign researchers through the development of the Welcome Office, systematic training of staff in research management and their involvement in international grant projects.
4. A substantial part of the project will focus on science communication, the creation of a new effective communication and marketing strategy and the development of communication skills among researchers. This will make it possible to share research results in a more targeted and comprehensible way with both expert and lay audiences.
We believe that the project will strengthen our ability to conduct excellent and transparent research, attract and support talented scientists from the Czech Republic and abroad, and transfer our findings into practice more effectively for the benefit of the health of society as a whole.
