This year the Institute of Physiology of the CAS celebrates 70 years since its foundation. Its main mission is to deepen the basic knowledge of physiological and pathological processes related to the nervous system, cardiovascular system and metabolic functions. For seventy years it has been systematically conducting research in the field of normal and pathological physiology with a special focus on biomedical research. The main focus of the research is the search for pathophysiological mechanisms and elucidation of the origin of major human diseases in order to contribute to the development of new approaches in their effective therapy, prevention and improved diagnosis.
We have prepared a number of activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the Institute this year. We have created a new presentation brochure of the Institute, published a series of articles on current research topics in the journal Vesmír (3/2024).
And also we would like to invite you to the symposium, which will take place on 11 September 2024 in the building of the Institute of Physiology in Prague 4 – Krč (Vídeňská 1083).
