Forbes magazine has ranked Lucie Bačáková from the Institute of Physiology among the twenty-four most inspiring female scientists this year. The results of the second annual competition were published by the magazine’s editors on Friday, 27 September. Even today, there are still significantly fewer women working in science than their male counterparts. Forbes have therefore linked up with L’Oréal, a company that has long supported women in science, to create the second annual selection of the most interesting women in science across disciplines. This is not a ranking to compare who is better or worse. They selected interesting, inspiring and active women scientists from a wide range of fields in an effort to showcase the wide range of cutting-edge science (not only) in the Czech Republic. It is an honour to have a representative from our institute among these women. We congratulate Lucie Bačáková and wish her many more scientific successes.
