From 1 January 2025, the Institute of Physiology joined the realization of the Spa Research Centre project. The main objective of the project is to build an environment and infrastructure for the implementation of scientific research activities in the field of spa and balneology with high application potential and the prospect of a significant contribution to economic growth and improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Karlovy Vary Region. Markéta Hlaváčková, Head of the Laboratory of Developmental Cardiology, will lead the project on behalf of the Institute of Physiology. Together with her team, she will perform specialized analyses aimed at monitoring the effect of spa treatment on changes in epitranscriptomic regulation, metabolome, proteome and inflammation markers in plasma of T2DM patients before and after complex treatment.
